I am renovating my house for about 2.5 months and thus, will have to find a rental house for 3 months. Is this legally allowed in Singapore and how do I see if the property listed allow 3 months stay instead?

For 3 months rental, you can only look for private residential units and provided that the landlord are open to 3 months short term rental as most landlord will be looking for at least 1 year lease period. Otherwise you may wish to consider serviced residences or hotels.
