I am negotiating to move to Singapore in an expatriate role and would need accom0dation to rent. It will be fr my wife and myself(no kids) but we hv a dog so would like a ground floor apartment/condo with a small back yard or terrace for the dog to move about. Can you please advise me whether such accomodation is available and if so what rental amount should I budget for?? Needs to be close to the MRT station as I will not hv a vehicle.Assistance appreciated.

Dear New Singapore Expat,

I have recently started out a group on Facebook specially catering to new expats coming into Singapore, where information about settling into Singapore are shared to help ease friends like yourself into living in Singapore. This is after many encounters while serving tenants like yourself who are first coming to Singapore for stay on long term employment and moving their family over together which maybe quite overwhelming to some.

With a wealth of experience catering to expats relocating into Singapore, I am sure I will be able to do something to help you as well.

It is important to find out what are your lifestyle like and if you have been allocated any housing allowances since living in the different part of Singapore has quite huge price disparity in terms of rental. I do have a 2 bedroom apartment on a ground floor with patio freeing up soon in 1 of the project with great expats community at Reflections At Keppel Bay if you are keen to explore, but first, it would be great to find out more information about yourself and move on from there.

It really depend on your dog breed.
If its a big dog like labrador, even a ground floor with patio is not the best. A landed terrace will be nice.

I have helped placed a couple with a maltese in a high rise condo with a balcony. It works for the couple and their lap dog.

I recently helped another family with 2 big dogs. They are well trained to Only 'do their business' outdoor. They 'pee' on pads placed in balcony and 'excrete' only during their daily walks in the park.

If you can provide me with more info, i can surely assist you to suggest n find a happy home for you and your dog.
