I am Malaysian thinking about becoming Singaporean. Do I need to sell off all my property in Malaysia? How about the property (Malaysia) given to me by my parents? Is it mean I can't take my parents legacy?

Hi Mr. Densen,

1) You don't have to dispose of any property currently own (both local and overseas) after your citizenship is approved.
2) There are no restrictions on a citizen to own multiple properties (local and overseas).
3) Singapore does not restrict anyone to inherit any properties (local and overseas). Sometimes it is the mother country that has such restrictions where the foreigner is not allowed to inherit their property.
4) You have to double-check with your mother country what are their inheritance policies to prevent your parents' legacy falls into the wrong hands.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.

Best regards
