Are you looking to purchase a resale or BTO? It is all a matter of transition, if you require to have a roof over head without having to move more than once, then doing a concurrent sale and purchase will be the best solution moving forward. If you require the CPF funds of your current place to be in before you can complete your purchase, then you will need to time the completion of the transactions proper to allow time for your CPF to be refunded back into your OA and subsequently drawn down for your purchase where it takes about 3 weeks to do so. Are both sellers and buyers using private lawyers? Otherwise you may wish to check if they are able to complete earlier. Most cases where change of completion dates are requested for delay and not move forward, as there are works to be carried out on the backend portion before the completion can take place. You may approach the HDB officer in charge for advise regarding this.
