I am buying a resale HDB unit from the open market, i do not have an agent at this moment.
i have viewed 1 unit and the seller agent intend to bring me to view other units under him.
Am i supposed to pay him his comm? I have read that, seller agent cannot collect comm from both seller and agent.

Hi,

In this instance, he is most likely collecting commission from his sellers, hence you need not pay him since he cannot collect from both sides. Consequently, he also has no need to protect your interests, thus it is up to you whether you want to engage your own agent to represent you to avoid overpaying. Thanks and hope to assist further.

If you choose to buy the unit that you have viewed, you are not liable to pay the agent commission for the purchase. However, if the agent brings you to view other unit that have being marketed by other agents and secure the deal with you, then you will be required to pay him the commission. Alternatively, you can alway engage a agent of your choice and assist you accordingly.
