I am an owner of a private condo in the east and thinking of selling due to the high demand and high price. Before selling, I will need to look for a place to buy. I can only buy a resale HDB right? What are the rules and regulations?

Morning,

To purchase resale HDB using bank loan or hard cash, you need to be either single SC, aged 35 and above or married SC+SC, SC+PR or PR+PR. There's no limit to preferred unit sizing. However, you are not eligible for housing grant and HDB loan.

You might also be liable for ABSD of 10% for PR or 7% for SC, if you choose to purchase first and sell later. However, you can claim this amount back after the transaction is completed.
