Above all, I think you would not want to travel halfway round the island to get to your workplace. I reckon the chosen home should be near to Jurong East near workplace IBP), which is a matured housing estate with many amenities.
Once that is sorted out, the little ones schooling needs will need to be taken care of as well. Depending on the age group and preference, there are schools nearby to enroll into. On top of these, there are also other housing issues to work out upon your arrival here.
