I am a landlord of a HDB flat. I advertised in the newspapers to rent out my flat. An agent brought a prospective tenant to view the flat and agreed on the rental. Do I need to pay the agent commission? Since I did not engage this agent in the first place, should the commission be paid by the tenant instead of me? If I do need to pay the commission, how much do I have to pay?

Afternoon Tracy,

Did you indicated your interest for the agent to represent you on this case? If you did not indicate your interest for the agent to represent you, you do not have any obligation to pay the agent any commission.
