I am a landlord. Agent helped me to find a tenant after which I paid him the commission via cheque payable to his real estate company. Few months later he called and ask me to reissue the cheque as he is still holding to it. Just want to know aren't agents suppose to submit the commission to their company? What is the reason for him not submitting? Very rich and.no need the commission?
Shall I entertain him?

Dear landlord,

Let's not assume anything but clarify with the salesperson why was the original cheque not submitted?

Give due credit to the salesperson who have assisted you in securing the tenant, perhaps there could be some genuine reasons behind the request?
