Afternoon,

New EC are governed by HDB ruling hence you are required to sell off your HDB unit upon key collection. This is again dependent on your financial ability. New EC can only be purchased by family nucleus of at least an SC and PR.

Dear sir,

Put it simply, a brand new EC is just like a HDB, therefore the government does not allow anyone to own 2 HDBs therefore you will be required to sell your HDB within 6 months of collection of key to your new EC. Is there anything I am able to assist further?

Hi there, the other 2 property agents have already highlighted that it is not possible to do so, as brand new EC purchase means you have to give up your current HDB flat when you get the key.

The solution is not to buy a brand new EC, but an EC that is fairly new, but past the 5 year mark. It will then be deemed as a private condo, but most ECs are lower priced than the nearby condos, which makes it a very attractive purchase still.

Alternatively, you can choose to purchase a new launch private condo.

It truly depends on your objectives. Contact me to discuss this further.
