I am a 1 year old SPR as of May 2015. My wife however had fulfill 3 years SPR requirement. We wanted to buy a spacious 4-5 room HDB or maybe considering a less room condo. Currently we have 150k savings. Kindly advice options available to us.
when is the best time i should start surveying for the HDB. your advice is much appreciated.

Hi,

As only 1 of you have met the 3 year SPR requirements, you can't purchase resale HDB, and can only go for condo. Thanks and may I understand your financials further so as to make better recommendations. Hope to discuss further with you.

Hi, if you are thinking of purchasing a HDB unit, I'm afraid that for your situation, both of you have to wait for another 2 years as you need to fulfill a 3 year tenure as a PR too.

Afternoon,

As you have only gotten your SPR status, you will have to wait till May 2018 before you will be eligible to purchase resale HDB unit with your spouse. However, both of you will be eligible for private property. It would be good to understand your income status before working on the principle of approval for mortgage loan. This will then allow us to work in accordance to your financial comfort.
