I already own a HDB flat but would like to upgrade to a bigger one. Is it possible to buy the new one first, so that I could move directly from the old lat into the new one?
I am staying with a disabled person, having to move is a great challenge already!

Hi,

Yes its possible if the finances are in place and able to cover the purchase price and stamp duties. It will be ideal to do up a detailed financial planning so to ensure a smooth transition. I have worked on similar cases and will be happy to assist.

It is permissible to complete the purchase first before you sell, nevertheless, finances will be a consideration. Should you require the proceeds for the sale of your existing place to finance your purchase, this will be highly unlikely to take place.

Hi,

It is possible for you to do that, as HDB rules states that you only need to sell your current flat latest 6 months upon the purchase of your next HDB resale flat.

Having said that, by purchasing first also mean that you will not need the sale proceeds from your current flat for the new purchase. You will need to have ready funds for the purchase.

Another way would be to request for an "extension of stay" from the Buyer of your current flat. This can be a condition for the Sale.
