How to rent safely during Covid 19 ?

If the only communication you have had is viewing property by video and talking to agent on Whatsapp how can you make sure your interests are protected before you transfer any money.

Hi,

I understand your concerns. In fact, this Covid situation is affecting not only Tenants, but also Landlord and Agents too.

As per Government's laws, I am afraid virtual home viewings is the best possible method now, until it becomes safe to resume normal activities. It's just like Buyers purchasing new launches by just looking at showflats and floorplans, never the actual unit. I believe this could be the new norm going forward.

Having said that, if you wish to play it safe, you could ask the Agent for his business card, which will include his CEA Reg No., and also the ownership proof of the property that you're going to rent. This is to ensure that you're transferring the money to the rightful owner.

I am experienced and well-versed in residential transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen

Hi
Understand your concern on it as our property activities are being curtailed during these times. If you can delay finding a place till phase 2 starts it will be good. If not, lots of checks need to be done remotely before committing yourself to a unit. Do contact me at 93375051  for a free and non obligatory discussions on this.

Hi Mr Anonymous

Since you have a valid concern, you should wait until the government lifts off the "lock down" ie Phase II or Phase III
and allow physical viewing

In this respect, you get to meet all parties concerned, and request for proof (before any money is transacted)
