Happy New Year! Yes 2nd quarter 2022 generally means the April - June 2022 period.

As the resale processing time takes approximately 3.5 months (excluding time needed to find a buyer), it is actually a good time to start marketing your current unit for sale, especially if you need your sale proceeds from your current flat to complete the purchase. Typically HDB requires the applicant to be able to fund the purchase fully (via cash/cpf/loan) then they will allow the keys to be released for move in.

Do note resale levy also applies for your case since this is the 2nd subsidized flat. It may not be a bad choice overall to get a second BTO, as you would probably realize some gains from the sale of the current flat.

Yes you are right :) 2nd quarter would be April to June period.
The entire Resale HDB processing time is typically 3.5 months, from the time we issue out an Option to Purchase (OTP). This is exclusive of the marketing period to secure a buyer. We can also request for an Extension stay of up to 3 months, so that you have sufficient time to get your new unit renovated and move-in seamlessly without any rush.

Hi,

If you require the sale proceeds for your new BTO flat purchase, you can probably start marketing your existing unit anytime now.

If you do not require the sale proceeds, you can actually collect the keys to your BTO flat first, and then sell off your current flat latest within 6 months upon key collection of your BTO flat.

Also, please do not be influenced by this "Sell 1 Buy 2 Condos" concept, as it is not for everyone, especially you're a Single parent. Every family profile is different and has different needs and objectives. Hence you should really "ignore the noise" and work on the options available to you.
