Hi,

Income tax is tiered. How much you pay for personal income tax, is dependent on your income for the financial work year.

Rental income from properties is considered as Other Income, which you will need to declare. However, you could offset the expenses incurred (i.e agent commission, maintenance, mortgage interest etc) from the rental income to get a nett income.

Yes you are right. Rental income is included as one your income when tax computation is concerned and will be added to your employment income to calculate your tax liability. However unlike employment income, you can claim deductible expenses such as agent fee, maintenance expenses and mortgage interest. IRAS also allow owners to claim standard 15% deemed expenses (excluding mortgage interest where you need to claim seperately) for the purpose of easier calculations. rental income (after expenses) will be added into your employment/ self employment/ trade income (when you file your NOA) under tax resident rates.
