There is no stipulation on that but usually it is stated in the tenancy agreement that deposit has to be refunded within 14 days after tenancy has ended. It is advised that landlord should run through the defects as soon as possible to avoid any complications of counterclaims and etc. It is also beneficial to settle any outstanding disputes the soonest possible so both parties can close the chapter and move on.
