Hi,my tenancy agreement expires in May, however the diplomatic clause ends in November. It states that I can give 1 month notice after lock-in period and vacate in case I have to move out of Singapore. Due to recent family developments, I really need a bigger house now, and would like to move elsewhere. On this basis can I approach the agent/owner and give them 1m notice & vacate? Or will this be rejected because I am not moving out of SG? I've been staying in this unit for 18m already.

Hi, your request would likely be rejected as you are still within Singapore. However, in all things there are always room for discussion and negotiation. And so I suggest that you give the landlord a call if you do have his or her mobile.
