Hi,

Would like some help to clarify the ABSD reimbursement.

The ABSD will be reimbursed to me in the event of my HDB is "SOLD" within 6 months from the issue date of the TOP.

The "sold" date is based on HDB first appointment or 2nd appointment?

Do I need to engage lawyer to facilitate the ABSD reimbursement process?

Hi Billy,

Yes you need to engage a law firm to do the ABSD reimbursement process. ABSD reimbursement is for SC married couple selling their 1st matrimonial property and purchasing next one on a joint name. Have you confirmed that you are eligible for it? May I know what type of property are you purchasing for the next one, and its on a joint name basis as well? Hi Billy,

You can start to claim ABSD refund after the stamp duty has been paid by the Purchaser of your HDB flat, sometime in between HDB 1st appointment and 2nd appointment.

Do take note that in order for you to claim ABSD refund, the private property that you bought has to be under joint-name and also be your matrimonial home.

ABSD shall be done by lawyer and buyer will be SC citizen to avoid any ABSD remission rejected.
