Good morning Yi Mei! If you can obtain a 80% loan (still will based on TDSR on your income), downpayment will be 5% cash and 15% cpf or cash. Before starting on house hunting, it's recommended to do an in principle approval to gauge how much loan can you obtain from banks. Start sourcing for units and issue 1% cheque (resale)/ 5% cheque (booking fee for new launch). Obtain a letter of offer from bank to exercise option to purchase within stipulated period with the remaining downpayment (15% or 19%) along with buyer's stamp duty etc. Then wait for completion period to be over (normally 6 to 8 weeks for resale) or construction to be completed (for new launch).
