Hi Adi, EC is definitely cheaper compared to a private condo of a similar size, level etc in the same area. But you have to understand as your wife still is a foreigner so both of you are not eligible for new EC (needs at least a SC). But you will be eligible to purchase resale EC and if you decide to purchase under both names, you will be subject to 15% ABSD (higher of 5% as a SPR and 15%). Hope it helps! Hi Mr. Adithya, Executive Condo is governed by HDB with HDB rules and regulations. Not everybody can buy a brand new EC. There are salary cap and other factors to determine eligible. Private condo is private as from the name. Anybody can purchase so long as is age 21. Private condo will cost more than EC. Do let me know if you plan to get any.
