Hi, we are midst of buying a condo unit (have exercised option and paid stamp duty), with completion date of sale in May this year. Am I currently allowed to list the unit for rental, to begin after completion date (meaning when the unit is properly ours) without the current owners approval? To avoid imposing on them in the next 2 months, we would have to list it for rent without offering viewings. The current owners are poorly responsive and are not being cooperative, just saying that they do not wish to be disturbed. Thank you for your advice.

Hi,
You can definitely prepare to rent it out. But, you cannot do that in propertyguru as it is only for registered agents. I can assist you to do that. Having a video of the unit helps. If not, pictures of it will do as well. I can do the video shoot for you as well. Please do contact me ASAP as getting a good tenant takes some time.

I would not say you are able to list it directly but if you are able to secure tenant during this period where tenants are comfortable to sign the lease agreement and pay you the deposit even if you are not the official owner yet, then it is a risk that the tenant is undertaking. Am not implying that you are going to cheat them, but as a measure of safety, we will usually verify the home ownership details when we advise our clients on rent, to ensure that payment is made to the true owner.
