Dear aspiring realtor,

In order to be eligible to enter this industry, you will need to have minimum 4 O Levels passes to enrol in the RES course and subsequently sit for the RES exams. You can choose to register with an agency first before you enrol for the course and exams or choose to get these formalities cleared before joining any agencies. The basic start up costs to join any agency will be the basic business kit which includes business cards and others which differs from agency to agency.

There is no doubt that this industry pays well but hard work and innovation is required in order to excel. For that, you will need to also identify which segment of business are you more interested in doing and identify someone who can be a platform for you to grow in this industry. Like many others, I started off in an agency which has all necessary infrastructures in terms of IT but I did not go far in the agency as there was a lack of mentorship. Subsequently I came on board my current team and I am very proud to say that I have more landed homes transactions than HDB in my short span of 5 years in this team.
