I suppose yours is a floating rate loan. Several analysts and economists predicted the SIBOR to reach 1% by end-15 and 2% by end-16. It seems like the SIBOR accelerated more than expected.

Does your loan has any lock-in period? If no, you are advised to refinance your loan given that the redemption fee is nominal sum compared to the interest savings.

Dear sir/madam,

In considerations that you have no lock in period over your current home loan for the EC, there is no harm to shop around to consider refinancing the home loan to enjoy better interest rates (lock in) should time and schedule allows you to sit and discuss with the bankers. Alternatively, you may wish to speak to a mortgage broker who may have a comprehensive set of solutions for you.
