Hi Chris,

In order to be eligible to sign a Tenancy Agreement, you have to obtain one of the pass with a validity period of at least 6 months:
(a) Student Pass
(b) Long Term Visit Pass
(c) Dependent Pass
(d) Work Permit
(e) S pass
(f) Employment pass

Please note that without any of the passes, any TA signed are not legal and invalid.

In order for you to sign the tenancy agreement, you must have valid work permit or S Pass. I would believe your company HR will deal with it accordingly.

To answer your question, yes you do need an SG work permit, or at least an in principal approval from MOM.
