You are required to live in your HDB within the MOP period, which is why it is considered the Minimum Occupation Period. What you have described in the above is against the requirement, not only for the occupation portion, but also against the requirement for primary 1 registration, if you were merely renting the property for its address to register for primary school of choice.

The only solution I can think of as of now is if the grandparents were to be the primary caregiver for the child and they stay within the radius required of the school, you can make use of this to register for primary school, however, take note that the child should not be enrolled for after school care services by external vendor but must be taken care of by the grandparents as the school will require the grandparents to undertake this officially.
