Hi there gurus,
Appreciate if you may help clarify my understandings
1) I’m unable to inherit a recent MOP BTO if I already have a private property.
source: Given that you own a private property, if the HDB you inherited was purchased on or after 30th August 2010 by the owner, you can only keep one property – either the HDB flat (provided you are eligible to own one) or the private property.
2) in such a scenario, can the deceased name me as the executor for the purpose of distributing the proceeds of the home to the beneficiaries when deemed “appropriate”? “Appropriate” is subjective as the executor may only seem so when he/she sees the property as a value sell. Understand that by having such a clause allows for the executor to hold onto the property under the name of the estate without HDB interfering? Or will HDB come force me to sell after a period of time. If not, I can reside in the estate’s property and rent out the private. That is assuming the beneficiaries don’t come forth and contest the estate home.
Thanks
