Hi Sir/Mdm,

For your case, you will not be able to held on to the property under the estate. Usually HDB will give you a time frame to dispose off the flat and distribute the sale proceeds to the beneficiaries.

HDB will usually require you to sell off the inherited HDB within a timeframe in the event that you are unable to retain the HDB.

Good evening,

Usually after some time after the deceased has pass on,
HDB will get in touch with the executor of the estate as well as the beneficiary of the inherited property to confirm with them whether they are eligible to keep the property or if not eligible, they will be required to sell off the HDB within a stipulated time frame.

Hi,

Yes, you're right in that you cannot own both the inherited HDB and your private property. You will be required to dispose off either of the property. If you're not eligible to own a HDB flat, you will be required to sell off the HDB flat.

As the executor or administrator, you will be given a timeline to sell off the estate's property. I am currently handling such a case. If the deceased had not met the MOP, you will not be able to register the Intent to Sell. You may wish to consult HDB should you encounter this issue.
