Hi real estate professionals:

I (Singapore citizen)owned a 4 rooms HDB flat and MOP will be March, 2016. I am planning to purchase another 2 or 3 rooms private condo in 2016(Hope the sale price can drop more). There are two options for me to buy the condo under my name or under my son (Singapore citizen and will be 21 years old in year 2016. My question is which option is the better one for less extra payment(such as ABSD). If buying a condo under my son name, I would like to ask you whether can get housing loan from bank under my name.

Evening Mr. Zhang,

Under the current ruling, the mortgagee have to be one of the owner. Hence given your case, ABSD of 7% will be payable. If you opt to use your son's name for the purchase, he must be able to obtain the mortgage loan based on his income.
