Hi, my wife wish to remove her name from our existing condo unit. This unit is fully paid and there is no deduction from her CPF. Can she do it online without going to lawyer office and due to her hand shivering condition she can only do thumb print. What is the fee like?

Hi Mr. Lim,

I'm afraid you will still have to go through a law firm unless you are familiar with all the conveyancing procedures and are able to liaise with the necessary governmental bodies to facilitate the transfer process. There is also the necessary stamp duties to be paid also. I can get my law firm partner to assist on this, please contact me at 97432395  for further discussion.

1) Up till today, all changes in property ownership will still need a conveyance lawyer involved.
2) There are 8 authorities that need to be informed and received approval before a legal transfer of ownership can be completed.
3) There is also quite a lot of document and legal process involved in the process.
4) I would not advise anyone without sufficient conveyance knowledge to DIY.
5) I would strongly suggest you approach a conveyance lawyer on how to proceed.
6) The first consultation usually is FOC. You may talk to the lawyer before making the final decision whether you wanted to engage them.
