Hi, my mum and I currently reside in a 2 story 5 room semi-detached house in Katong. However as there are only 2 of us with the maid, I would prefer to move into a smaller place. Are there any restrictions on us renting an HDB apartment? The property is under my mother's name. I understand I can rent a place under my name but I was told that my mum, owning private property is not allowed to reside in public HDB flats. Please advise.
