Hi, my husband and I both Singaporean owned a fully paid HDB and long passed MOP. Would like to invest in a 2 to 3 bedroom condo less than 700k. Am I allowed to buy a condo under my name solely to avoid ABSD but payment deducted from both our CPF?

Interested in Forest woods, is it good for investments?

Hi there, yes actually its possible to reduce the absd to the min and at the same time having both of you as owners for your next property purchase, However, we would need to understand more about your ownership status and CPF commitment before we are able to advice on the suitable solution. If you want to be owner then can use cpf if not you can not use cpf without input your name into the house.

Good afternoon,

Since both names are registered in the HDB unit, you will still be required to pay ABSD, whether it's purchased under either name only or under joint tenancy. As for the mortgage, if it's purchase under either name, the CPF deduction can only be done from the owner's CPF account.

Hi Mdm,

You mentioned that you and your husband are Singaporeans, and co-owned your HDB.

Should either of you purchase a second residential property, you will be liable for ABSD of 7%. Be it buying under your name, your husband's name, or joint names, the ABSD is the same.
