Hi. my brother currently owns a HDB flat with his wife and they are going through the possibility of separation. He wants the children and his wife to remain in the HDB flat while he intends to rent an apartment6 (condo). Is that possible and how should he go about it? Are there any repercussions or restrictions? Thanks

Morning,

During separation period, there's no restriction. But after the divorce is done, it will depend on the court order. Selling will be an option, either to the spouse or to the open market.
