As both you and your wife are SPRs, I regret to inform you that you will not be allowed to rent out your whole HDB flat.

If you do not have intentions to come back to Singapore in future, or will not be posted back in the near term, you might want to consider to appeal to HDB for you to sell the flat prior to meeting your MOP.

If you have plans to come back to Singapore, you could try to rent out some (but not all) of the bedrooms to help with your mortgage repayment.

Hi Mr Godwin,

I believe the immediate solution is to look into room rental,and also with current SIBOR at a low, you may wish to look into refinancing your home loan to capitalise on the lower interest rates now. Let me know if this is also an option and I can arrange for a banker to speak to you to discuss on eligibility.
