Hi. Me and my fiancee is getting married in 10 weeks time. And we do not have a place to stay afterwards. We are both unemployed but planning to start work this month. Due to covid we lost our job. We both have a combined cpf of 52 thousand. We are planning to buy a 4 room resale. Will it affect our hle status?. We have yet to apply for hle. And if we are unable to buy a house. Can we rent a flat from hdb if at point of application we are still unemployed? We are in such a bind. Hope someone can help clarify. We are both first timers buyers.

Hi,

I'm afraid you will need to find temporary accommodation, or continue to stay where you're currently staying, because a typical HDB transaction takes about 3 months to complete.

It is not possible to complete the transaction in 10 weeks, and especially so given that you also have not applied for HLE due to your loss of jobs.

It is advisable for you to apply for HLE soon, providing proof of your employment, and seeking HDB's understanding that you need a loan fast.

I am experienced and well-versed in both HDB and private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans.

Should you need require further assistance in matters relating to property, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to assess and share with you the possibilities for you in the current market.

Thank you.

Best regards,
