Good day to you.

As per your questions above, whether you decide to rent HDB or condo, it all depends on your budget, the needs for facilities (ie. swimming pool, tennis court, spa, etc).

Location is also an important factor too. Staying near your campus will make it easier for you to commute from home to school, vice versa.

On the differences, HDB is a public housing which provides basic necessities of living, and that usually comes with foodcourt, supermarket and other provisional shops just below the block.

As for condo, it is equipped with facilities and its surrounding are fenced up to provide exclusivity. Condos are therefore more expensive on the rental rates if you are comparing between HDB and condo on the same location.
