Hi, may i ask when is a private property considered sold? at exercise of OTP or on handover of keys etc? Reason is because my buyer exercised the option prior to the announcement of new stamp duty within 3 years, hence would like to know whether i will be affected? Thanks!

Hi SK,

Your property is considered sold when the buyer exercised the OTP at his lawyer's office.

You should not be affected by the 3 yrs ruling because this new policy will effect from 30 Aug 2010. If you have bought that property before 21 Feb 2010, you will also not be affected by the 1-yr stamp duty policy.

Please feel free to drop me an email or call me directly for further discussion.

Thanks & Best Regards
