Hi, m looking to rent out my hdb 4 room flat at choa chu kang ctr. my flat has no aircon in 2 rooms, only master room has aircon. may i know the difference between rental with aircon vs no aircon? m thinking if i should install aircin in the other 2 rooms. Thank u.

Good afternoon landlord,

the difference in rental for with or without aircon might not be drastic. Probably by a minimal few hundred dollars.

My suggestion will be to show to potential qualified tenants as of the current condition first. If they will like you to install the aircon, we can discuss further on the rental again.

    Thank you for the reply. M planning to rent out early next year. So if there is a difference of at least $200, i will rather install the air con now so we get to enjoy the aircon first. Hope to have a guide of price difference to make a wise decision.
Hi there! I am assisting a landlord with the rental of her 5 room flat at Choa Chu Kang as well.

Her unit is not air-conditioned either and she asked the same question. It's always best to secure a tenant first and according to what they require, you may provide and negotiate the rental. If they do not require AC, then it would've been no point if you had installed AC.

Dear Sir/Mdm,

The price will be quite minimum, maybe just $100 to $200 different. However, due to the hot weather in Singapore, most tenants preferred to have aircon in all bedrooms, your unit will be less appealing without aircon.

Based on the price of a system 3 in the market now, you could easily recoup back the cost in 2 years. Therefore, I would advise you to install aircon prior to rental.

I am currently marketing a 5 room HDB for rent at Blk 703 and might be able to swing potential tenant over.
