Hi RH,

You need to pay (3% of Purchase Price - $5,400) for a private condo. Stamp Duty is payable within 2 wks when you exercise the Option at your lawyer's office.

You can use CPF to pay but due to the timing constraint, is advised that you pay by cash first and your lawyer can help you reimburse from your CPF.

Hi RH,

An easy formula for calculating the Stamp Duty that you need to pay would be 3% of Purchase Price - $5,400 for a private property.

Stamp Duty is payable when you exercise the Option.

You can use CPF to pay your Stamp Duty, but a common practice is to pay by cash first and get your lawyer to help you reimburse from your CPF later.
