Hi. I would like to buy a hdb flat under single scheme. If the mortgage loan I take from private bank instead of HDB loan under the regulation do I still need to delare my oversea properties? Pls advise. Thanks

Hi James, whether your loan is from the bank or HDB, you still have to declare and sell your overseas property within 6 months upon collecting your keys of the resale unit.

    Thanks for the reply. And also I overheard that if I did declared the property beforehand. HDB's would allowed me to buy flats w/o dispose any of my oversea property. Is it true? some of the property agent claimed that can aleast hold one overseas residential properties. Pls advise

Good evening James,

You have to declare and dispose off any overseas residential properties within 6 months from resale HDB completion in regardless you are taking HDB or bank loan.

For purchase of HDB unit, regardless of HDB loan or bank loan, you are to remove your private property ownership within 6 months from key collection.

As long as you hold a private property, you need to dispose it within 6 months after the purchase of a HDB resale flat.
