Hi,

I will be moving to Singapore soon and have got in touch with an agent who has quoted me an agency fee of 2500 SD to help me with finding a condo to rent. My budget for rental is around 4000 SD. Does this seem like a fair amount to charge? It seems like a lot of money and as I’m from the UK, there is not normally a charge for an agent’s assistance with finding somewhere to live.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi,
Currently, there are a lot of scammers around pretend to be agents so please be careful not to commit or pay anything before an actual viewing and signing of legal Tenancy agreement.
Agent commission market rate is 0.5 month for 1 year lease, 1 month for 2 years lease (+gst)

Hi,

I would be most glad to assist you further and please feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Have a good day ahead. By the way, if you are looking for a condo around $4000 rental per month for a year lease, then the agent commission should be at half a month of rental which translate to $2000.
