Hi. I signed a 1 year lease contract for a HDB apartment against a month of deposit, in presence of the owner and two licensed agents (my agent and the owner's agent). A few days ago, we made the handover and exchanged the keys against the first month of rental, in presence of the owner and his licensed agent. But when I moved in yesterday, another co-owner was inside the flat, apparently living there permanently. The owner sent me a text this afternoon and recognized that he knew that the flat couldn't be rented (it couldn't be approved by HDB, something like that)... but he "needed money"..........(yes, he really wrote that, scary right?)
Who is responsible here? The owner with who I signed? The agents? (which one?) or shared liability?
