Hi I rent a room and pay deposit and due to overseas plan I told landlord I ll move out after month I stay there 1 month and he ask me move out after 15 days on the 1 st of April instead of 15 April so that he can find tenant and he promised me to give back deposit in 14 days but now he refusing to pay

Hi,

If it is indeed the case, then you could go to the small claims and file a case against the landlord.

It is not uncommon to see such rental disputes going on for rentals managed directly by tenants and landlords. For any such disputes, if you are seeking recourse, the only channel you can go to is to file a small claim against the landlord. Read More

    He said it’s under hdb rules and when there is no agreement signed so on what basis he hold my deposit ? Isn’t relevant and I have all the proof he promised to give back deposit in 14 days on chat
