Hi,
Last quarter was actually the cooling period for ABSD where buyers and sellers wait out to see how the market react. However, recent transactions have shown that the ABSD was shrugged off and buyers carry on buying properties. There are still foreigners buying but the ratio has dropped. And people not affected by the ABSD, seeing that the market is not going to go south anytime soon, decided to enter the market. Those are people who are either first time investors or those buying for own stay.
The government have a policy of making sure that the market stabilizes. And a drop of 20%-30% is definitely not healthy for the market. And i am aware of even more buyers that will jump in at the opportunity when there is only 10% drop in prices. Hence, it seems that there is quite good demand in the market.
Another question, if share prices are volatile and other tools of investment are not viable, where else can investors park their money.
But after saying all this.. take my words with a pinch of salt. No one have a crystal ball and I am also not 100% sure about what will happen.
Cheers
