HI,
I have been living in the same unit for the last 8 years. During this time, I have renewed the TA every time for 2 years. This means that I have paid my agent thrice for renewal + the original TA agency fee.
My next renewal is coming soon, please advise if I need to engage with my agent or I can directly go through the owner's agent or contact the owner for renewal.

It depends on what is written on the TA. If renewal fees are due for every renewal, then you have to follow what is on the TA.

Alternatively, you may try to negotiate a separate arrangement with your agent, such as having the landlord cover the fees.
