Suggest to start sourcing in March, but only purchase when completed 3 years of PR.
To the purchase, the first step is to get AIP from any bank. This will allow you to know the max purchase price to go for.

Good evening Douglas,

Since you will only fulfill 3 years in April 2016. A reasonable time frame will be to start house hunting after chinese new year, probably 1 month before your 3 years SPR fulfillment (March). Once you have something in mind, you just need to wait to ink the option to purchase on your 3 years SPR fulfillment date.

Before you kick start the househunting, there are a few stuffs that we need to prepare.

You need to speak to my banker so he/ she can advise you on your in principle approval. With this, you will be able to gauge how much loan can you obtain.

And to better understand your house purchase, do share more information with me:

1) preferred location
2) requirements like preferred floor level, corridor or corner unit etc
3) finances on hand (CPF OA funds and cash) to draft out a detailed financial plan for you.

I had assisted at least 2 groups of SPR buyers in their resale HDB purchase in Singapore while another group is waiting for next April as well.
