Hi, I am renting a relatively old property, which has turned out to have a leaking problem (permanent plastic containers and towels in place in case of rain). I have had a long argument with the landlord about his duties to keep the roof in good condition. It has finally now come to the point where I, the tenant, gave the landlord, and ultimatum to specify details on how the landlord is going to solve the problems incl a timetable, within a deadline which was passed last night. As a tenant, what are my possibilities of calling a default of the tenancy agreement? and therefore vacate the property. And how would the courts look at this, if it should come to a court case?
