Hi, I am renting a condo that will be sold, including my tenancy. Is it possible for me to get out of my lease, due to the change of owner? In my tenancy agreement it states:

"In the event of a sale of the said premises, the Landlord shall be entitled to assign the benefit of this Agreement including his obligation to refund the security deposit paid under clause (2) to the purchaser of the said premises."

So I assume that I cannot, unless I discuss it directly with the agent / landlord?

Thanks!

Hi,

Nope you can’t terminate the lease just like that but you could negotiate it with the new owner.
