I am currently singe and I intend to buy a resale HDB now. If I get married 2 years later, will my spouse name be added to the resale HDB even though I have made full payment of the unit.

Hi,

1) Yes, you have the choice to add your spouse in either as an owner or an occupier if she is an SC or SPR, and only as an occupier if she is a foreigner.
2) Do note that adding in as an owner is not just an administration process, there are taxes, and legal fees involved. The whole process is similar to purchasing an HDB flat.
All current and proposed owners must be aware and give consent to the change in flat ownership.
3) Your spouse will need to pay for the share that you are transferring to her.
4) The whole process takes about 4 months to complete.
5) Whereas if only adding in as an occupier, you can perform on MYHDB by logging in using your Singpass and submitting any relevant document for verification. The HDB will approve accordingly once verified the eligibility criteria.
