Hi, I am currently renting a room in a private property in Chinatown. The apartment have been turned into a 6 rooms and all rooms are lease out. I would like to know if it is legal to modify entire apartment to rooms only (placing partition)? Do not want to be staying in illegal place.

Any government department which I can check with?
