Hi Gurus, i have just rented a place for $4.5k 1 yr lease. Do i need to pay my agent any commission. He is co broking with another agent. He is looking for some form of commission from my side as he says he is getting nothing from the other agent. Please advise thank you.

Hi Stuart,
One month commission for 2-years lease, 1/2 month commission for a 1-year lease.
For market practise in a private lease deal,
in a case of a rental fee of $3,000 or below, tenant has to pay commission (To your agent in a cobroke transaction, or to landlord's agent if you go direct). However in your case, the rental fee is $4,500, tenant does not has to pay any commission, tenant's agent has to split the 1/2 mth commission with landlord's agent.
