Hi Guru,

Recently I leased an apartment unit on fully furnished basis which includes a TV. After I took over the unit, I switched on the TV to watch local channels & there was no signal. I checked with the landlord's managing agent & was told that I need a set-up box. I checked the TV model online & noted that the TV is a HDTV which can watch local channels with antenna & I informed the managing agent. She bought an antenna & informed me that neither she nor the landlord has the responsible to set up the TV & it is tenant's responsibility. She is just helping out. I leased a fully furnished apartment because it is supposed to be hassle free & just need to bring my luggage & move in. Could you advised me who is responsible to set up the TV in a fully furnished leased apartment just to watch local TV channels (landlord or the tenant)? Thank you!

Hi, this is a rather grey area I should say. As almost 99% of tenant would also subscribed to either SingTel or StarHub for their internet services and these company guys would then drop by the unit and hook up the TV as well.
